South Korean Foreign Minister Recognizes India's Transformative Changes

During a recent meeting in Delhi, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun acknowledged the significant transformative changes that have taken place in India over the past decade, particularly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting, which marked the 10th anniversary of the Special Strategic Partnership between India and South Korea, focused on strengthening bilateral ties in various areas, including defense, security, business, economics, connectivity, and people-to-people relations.

Cho Hyun, who served as Ambassador to India from 2015 to 2017, expressed admiration for the depth of India's culture and its development since his first arrival. He highlighted the continued progress under Modi's government, noting advancements in economic development, defense modernization, technological innovation, and deepening global partnerships.

In the discussions, Cho Hyun and Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized collaboration on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, clean energy, and maritime cooperation.

Jaishankar extended greetings to Cho Hyun for South Korea's National Liberation Day and welcomed him as a new colleague, acknowledging their past friendship. He also shared that he had the privilege of being with the Indian Prime Minister during a meeting with South Korea's President in Kananaskis, Canada.

The meeting between the two leaders was described as very good, and the meeting between Jaishankar and Cho Hyun is indicative of the value India attaches to its relationship with South Korea. It is worth noting that Cho Hyun met Jaishankar during his tenure as Ambassador, and their relationship has continued to grow since then.
