Dragonflight's fourth season spotlights a return to Algeth'ar Academy.
Let's take a trip down memory lane to the Alget'ar Academy, a level 70 Dragonflight dungeon. Blizzard has made it possible to pull all Dragonflight dungeons in S4, offering a nostalgic adventure. Nestled in the north of Taldrazus on the Dragon Islands, this forgotten dungeon is worth a revisit.
Here's a quick heads-up on the bosses you'll encounter:
Vexamus - Professor Maxdormu's favorite lesson, but inaccuracies will earn him a scolding. Be on your toes to avoid any mishaps.
Enchanted Spheres - They'll move toward the boss, causing damage if absorbed. Escape their initial appearance, then absorb them to prevent damage. Absorbing spheres will cause you significant damage and diffuse debuff, making you more vulnerable to other spheres, so be prepared! For neutralizing the spheres, it's best to use abilities that grant magic immunity.
Magic Rift - After accumulating 100 energy, Vexamus applies a Magic Rift that deals massive damage and knocks players back. If you successfully intercept all Magic Spheres, Magic Rifts will be applied every 40 seconds.
Mana Bombs - The boss attaches mana bombs to three players, which disappear after a minute. Make sure to put them aside in a pile.
Crawth - Crawth has taken over the Lish Llrath arena and shows no signs of leaving anytime soon. Let's work together to make her move!
Scoring the Ball - The main mechanic involves throwing the ball into either the Fire or Air Gate. After three balls hit the Fire Gate, fire projectiles appear, which you must dodge. This also stuns Crawth for 12 seconds, making her vulnerable to more damage.
Particles and Invulnerability - When activated, players gain temporary invulnerability to repulsion and a speed boost. Use them to your advantage!
Deafening Screech - AoE that also interrupts abilities. If successfully applied, you'll be silent for 6 seconds. The screech leaves a cumulative debuff on players, increasing the damage from subsequent screeches. Remove the debuff by scoring a goal in any gate.
Overwhelming Gust - Applied every 30 seconds to a random player, causing heavy frontal damage and pushing players off the court. Stand sparsely to avoid colliding with other players during the Gust.
Powerful Blows - The tank must be ready to collect these blows, dodge or pair them.
Overgrown Ancient - A technological disaster brought about by Mystakria and Ichistrasz's magical experimentation. Watch out for the mess they've created!
Germination - Seeds appear under players' feet, causing damage and summoning ancient acolytes after 4 seconds. Try to appear in one place to make acolytes easier to deal with.
Branch - Boss throws his branch at players, causing heavy damage to everyone in its area. To contain the damage, stay in a group.
Revived Branch - Has high priority in terms of killing. Abilities like knockdown can be used to control it.
Tanking - The tank should be ready to collect minions that appear when the boss's energy reaches 100. Tanks should also be prepared to face powerful ability against them every 20-30 seconds.
Echo of Doragosa - Headteacher Doragosa's simulacrum keeping the Isles in order while they lay dormant. Let's help her out and defeat her at the same time!
Debuff Effects - Avoid damage from all boss abilities to prevent receiving multiple debuff effects. If possible, stay close to the boss.
Star Breath - Frontal AoE directed towards a random player. Run out of the affected area to survive.
Energy Vacuum - The boss uses energy vacuum to attract players to it, causing massive damage within a 20m radius. Position yourself carefully to avoid the vacuum.
Energy Bomb - Attached to a random player, Explodes after 6 seconds, causing damage to all players within an 8m radius. Tanks should lead the boss away from detonated energy bombs, but not too far to avoid placing players in voidzones.
Sports enthusiasts might find parallels in the strategic teamwork required during the encounters in Alget'ar Academy. For instance, Crawth's Scoring the Ball mechanic resembles a high-stakes soccer match, where players must work together to score goals and dodgeprojectiles. Similarly, the Overgrown Ancient's Revived Branch presents a challenge akin to football's relay races, where players must work together to control the ball or in this case, the branch.
