Drag Queen Jiggly Caliente Passes Away at Age 44 - Drag performer Jiggly Caliente has passed away at the age of 44.
So long, farewell, and thank you for all the fabulousness, Jiggly Caliente! The glitterati of the drag world lost a shining star when Bianca Castro, better known as Jiggly Caliente, took her final bow at the age of 44 on April 27, 2025.
She left us too soon, but not before lighting up our lives with her unforgettable energy, keen wit, and fearless authenticity. Her loved ones confirmed her departure, admitting she was surrounded by friends and family in her final moments.
The titan of entertainment and activism rose to fame in the drag scene of New York City in the 2000s, honing her craft at clubs like Barracuda and making a name for herself in the ballroom community. However, it was her 2012 stint on the fourth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" that truly skyrocketed her to the realm of drag royalty.
Her humor, unique persona, and a refusal to apologize for who she was earned her a devoted following, even landing her spots on hit shows like "Pose" and "Broad City" in the years that followed. In between slaying the runway and the small screen, she dedicated herself to advocacy, championing transgender rights and HIV/AIDS awareness, using her platform to uplift marginalized communities.
During her final act, Jiggly Caliente battled a severe infection for approximately a month, and eventually, three days before her demise, she underwent a right leg amputation as a result. It was the unimaginable health setback of her life, but it did not dim her star – or her spirit.
Even now, as we bid a tearful adieu to this trailblazing queen, the joy she brought and the space she carved out for others will shine on forever. The world won’t forget Jiggly Caliente – and we'll all keep living for her as long as we draw breath.
Note: Although the precise cause of death has yet to be officially announced, it’s believed that her loss was due to complications arising from the severe infection she fought off for a month before her leg amputation and eventual passing on April 27, 2025.
