DraftKings Opens New Sportsbook in Columbus, Ohio
DraftKings, a leading online sports betting news company in the US, is expanding its footprint in Ohio with the opening of a new nypost. The DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Columbus, located in the Short North Arts District, will officially open its doors on May 9, 2024.
Covering an area of 5,500 square feet, the new venue will feature an advanced LED media wall and high-definition TV sets, providing customers with an immersive viewing experience. The sportsbook will offer in-game entertainment, fan cams, audio-visual effects, giveaways, and prizes for lucky fans.
Michael Kibort, a Vice President of Product Operations at DraftKings, commented on the new property, saying, "We are excited to bring our unique sports and entertainment news to Columbus, Ohio. The new DraftKings Sports & Social venue will offer a dynamic environment for sports fans to enjoy their favourite games while engaging with our innovative technology."
The new sportsbook is not the first venture for DraftKings in Columbus. The company already operates PBR Cowboy Bar, which combines a sports bar, sportsbook, and restaurant, and was opened in February 2024 at 840 North High Street.
Sports betting news in Ohio was approved in 2021 and became legal on January 1, 2023, when Governor Mike DeWine signed it into law. At the moment, bettors in Ohio can place their bets at the Hollywood Casino, Eldorado Scioto Downs, Fanatics Sportsbook (which was opened in 2023 just outside the famous Nationwide Arena), and now, the DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Columbus.
The working hours of the new venue are from 11am to 11pm from Sundays through Wednesdays, and from Thursdays through Saturdays it will be open from 11am to 2am. Customers at the new venue who are at least 21 and have the DraftKings Sportsbook app can place bets through it.
Visitors of the new DraftKings Sports & Social venue in Columbus can enjoy an extensive restaurant menu with various options including burgers, sandwiches, wings, tacos, flatbreads, salads, and appetizers. The venue will also host daily fantasy sports challenges through mobile phones, adding an extra layer of excitement for sports enthusiasts.
DraftKings currently operates two more sites in Detroit and Nashville, and the company shows no signs of slowing down its expansion in the US sports betting news market. With the opening of the DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Columbus, sports fans in Ohio have another exciting destination to enjoy their favourite games.
