DraftKings and Underdog, together with FanDuel, apply for Missouri Sports Betting Certification

Missouri residents will soon be able to place bets on their favourite sports, as legal sports betting is set to begin on December 1, 2025. The Missouri Gaming Commission has been managing the application and approval process for sports betting licences, and several companies have already submitted their applications.

As of July 2025, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Underdog are among the companies that have applied for sports betting licenses in Missouri. DraftKings and FanDuel have applied for untethered licenses, while Underdog has applied for a mobile license. Additionally, Catalist, GLI (an independent testing lab), and GeoComply have applied for sports wagering supplier licenses.

Larry Henry, a veteran print and broadcast reporter and editor, has been covering the Missouri sports betting licensing process. Although he does not have a formal role in the licensing or regulatory process, he has provided valuable insights into the developments of the sports betting landscape in Missouri.

Other major operators such as BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook are expected to apply but had not submitted applications as of the last reports. The Missouri Gaming Commission announced direct mobile license holders on August 15, and licensing rules are scheduled to become effective on August 30.

With legal sports betting on the horizon, residents of Missouri will have the opportunity to place bets on a variety of sports, including the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 14 game against the Houston Texans on December 7, their Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14, Week 16 game against the Tennessee Titans on December 21, Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos on December 25, and their Week 18 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on January 4.

The Super Bowl, set for February 8, 2026, in Santa Clara, California, will also be available for betting after legal sports wagering begins on December 1. It's an exciting time for sports fans in Missouri, as they will soon have the chance to place bets on their favourite teams and events from the comfort of their homes or while on the go.
