Draft picks: NFL franchise Titans select quarterback Cam Ward as their top pick

Cam Ward's Spectacular Rise from Obscurity to NFL Stardom

Hailing from small-town Wisconsin, Cam Ward's extraordinary journey from an unnoticed high school QB to the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is nothing short of spectacular.

In his swansong season at Miami, Ward shattered records left, right, and center, chalking up an astounding 4,313 passing yards and a mind-boggling 39 TDs, both single-season school records. This magnificent performance earned him the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year title.

But the road to success was fraught with strategic transfers. Ward kicked off his collegiate career with two seasons at Incarnate Word, an FCS university. In his second year there, he set the ball rolling with an awe-inspiring 4,648 passing yards and 47 TDs.

Following a head coach change, Ward made the bold decision to transfer to Washington State University (WSU) in 2022. At WSU, he remained unstoppable, throwing for 6,963 yards over two seasons with 48 TDs, casually tossing in 16 interceptions, and completing 65.5 percent of his passes.

Fast forward to 2024, and Ward finds himself strutting his stuff for the Miami Hurricanes. In a league known for its cutthroat competition, he connected on an astonishing 67.2 percent of his passes and was intercepted just seven times, a remarkable shows of discipline and accuracy.

As for the Titans, who claim Ward as their own, Will Levis led the charge in 2024, throwing for 2,091 yards with a respectable 63.1 percent completion rate and 13 TDs, but also twelve picks. To beef up their offensive lineup, the Titans recently snapped up Tyler Lockett, the former Seattle Seahawks' receiver, on a one-year deal.
