Dr. Ilka Werner, the Superintendent, begins her third tenure.
New Leadership for the Evangelical Church District of Solingen
The Evangelical Church District of Solingen is set for a change in leadership, with Dr. Ilka Werner being re-elected as Superintendent and Friederike Höroldt confirmed as scribe. Lukas Schrumpf from Rupelrath has been confirmed as deputy senior synod member, while Stefan Dalaff and Reiner Kirchner from Ohligs and Ketzberg, respectively, have been elected as senior synod members.
Dr. Ilka Werner, who has been leading the Solingen church district since 2013, will begin her third term of office on 19 January 2025. The installation service will take place at the Luther Church at 11:00 AM. Thomas Foerster, the Synodal Assessor, will conduct the installations and farewells. Pastor Raphaela Demski-Galla will give the sermon at the service.
The Superintendency, which includes the Superintendent, the Synodal Assessor, and the Scribe, will lead the District Synodal Board. The Superintendency also serves as the chair of the District Synod and the District Synodal Board, representing the church district in the public life of Solingen.
The District Synodal Board, which consists of three pastors, four senior synod members, two deputy scribes, and four deputy senior synod members, is responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial, and spiritual affairs of the district. Their responsibilities typically include decision-making on church policies, budgets, and district-wide programs. Approximately half of the seats on the District Synodal Board are up for election every four years.
Five other individuals have been newly elected to KSV offices: Raphaela Demski-Galla, Dr. Markus Hoefner, Angelika Pollmann, Aike Rippert, and a person from the Luther Church congregation.
After the service, the church district invites everyone to a glass of champagne or juice. The terms of Friedhelm Kampf, Rainald Rasemann, Pastor Corinna Massmann, Goetz Rohr, and Ingrid Rust will end on 19 January, and they will be thanked and farewelled during the service.
