Downtown Gütersloh transforms into a lively dance venue, with DJs being the center of celebration
In the heart of Gütersloh, Germany, on September 16, 2025, the fifth edition of "DJs in Town" took place, attracting thousands of visitors. The event, organised by the City's Cultural Affairs department, was a lively spectacle that spanned from 6 PM to midnight, with two stages hosting local and regional artists.
The festivities started at Berlin Square, where DJ Active (Denis, 22) took the decks between 9 and 10 PM, expressing his excitement about the energetic audience. Nearby, on Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, DJ Mr. Jawbone, a regular at the event, was warming up the crowd in front of the town hall.
The music played a vibrant mix of electronic sounds, house, charts, reggae, and club music, keeping the crowd moving throughout the night. Among the performers were Simon Drosten from Wapelbeats, LUKE D, and the legendary Whiteheads, who reunited for the occasion, three years after their appearance at the City DJ Festival in Berlin Square and Town Hall Square.
Despite the rain, the spirits of the guests remained high. Liam, a Gütersloh resident, attended the event with his friends Nico, Ali, Gina, and Lina, and they danced the night away with umbrellas in hand.
Mayor Matthias Trepper opened the event at 10 PM, expressing his delight in the event's appeal to the city's youth. He also announced the event's return next year, which was met with cheers from the crowd. Lena Jeckel, the project manager responsible for organising the event, was both relieved and proud of its success.
As the night drew to a close, the music continued to echo through the streets of Gütersloh, marking another successful year for "DJs in Town." The event, with its lively atmosphere and diverse music, has undoubtedly become a staple in the city's cultural calendar.
