Downtown Gütersloh transforms into a lively dance floor, with DJs being celebrated.
In the heart of Gütersloh, Germany, the City of Gütersloh's Cultural Affairs department orchestrated a vibrant and lively event on September 16, 2025 – the fifth edition of "DJs in Town". This open-air DJ festival, under the project management of Lena Jeckel, transformed Berlin Square and Town Hall Square into a pulsating hub of music and dance.
Two months of meticulous preparation culminated in a successful execution, drawing thousands of visitors eager to experience the diverse lineup of DJs. The event, which lasted from 6 PM to midnight, was a testament to Gütersloh's thriving cultural scene.
Local and regional artists, including Simon Drosten from Wapelbeats, LUKE D, and the Whiteheads, graced the two stages with their talents. The Whiteheads, who had been guests at the City DJ Festival three years ago, returned to bring their unique energy to the event.
On the Berlin Square, DJ Active (Denis, 22) took centre stage, delighting the crowd with his house and electro beats between 9 and 10 PM. His performance was met with enthusiasm, as he is normally found entertaining crowds in Spain and Café Europa.
Meanwhile, DJ Mr. Jawbone performed at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, expressing his appreciation for the event being organized for young people. His set was well-received, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The rain did not dampen the spirits of the guests; many continued dancing with umbrellas, proving that the music was the true star of the night. Liam, a Gütersloh resident, attended the event with friends Nico, Ali, Gina, and Lina. They all agreed that the event's atmosphere was unparalleled, making it a highlight of their year.
Mayor Matthias Trepper opened the event, praising it for appealing to the city's youth and promoting a peaceful, enjoyable atmosphere. He also announced the event's return next year, promising another night of music and celebration in Gütersloh.
DJs in Town 2025 was a resounding success, with DJ Active and DJ Mr. Jawbone providing the soundtrack for an unforgettable evening. Lena Jeckel, the project manager, was relieved and proud of the event's success, knowing that she and her team had created a memorable experience for the city's residents and visitors alike.
