Downtown Gütersloh transformed into a lively dance venue, as DJs were celebrated.

On the evening of September 16th, 2025, the heart of Gütersloh city centre came alive with the rhythmic beats of electronic sounds, house, charts, reggae, and club music as the fifth edition of "DJs in Town" took place.

The event, organised by the City of Gütersloh's Cultural Affairs department, attracted thousands of partygoers to Berliner Platz and Town Hall Square. The two stages set up for the 15 DJs, including the renowned DJ Mr. Jawbone and the energetic DJ Active, provided a lively backdrop for the open-air disco that ran from 6 PM to midnight.

Notable participants included Simon Drosten of Wapelbeats, LUKE D, and the Whiteheads, who had previously performed at the city's DJ festival three years ago. The crowd showed approval for the event being included in the city's event calendar, with many regular attendees like Gütersloh resident Liam and his friends Nico, Ali, Gina, and Lina being present every year.

Mayor Matthias Trepper opened the event, expressing his delight about the event's appeal to the city's youth and announcing its return next year. DJ Mr. Jawbone, who performed on the stage in front of the Town Hall (Konrad-Adenauer-Platz), expressed his delight about the event, while DJ Active (Denis, 22), who performed on Berliner Platz, was particularly excited by the crowd.

Lena Jeckel, the head of the cultural department (Fachbereich Kultur) in Gütersloh and the project leader responsible for organising the event, was relieved and proud of the event's success. Despite the rain that started around 10 PM, many partygoers continued dancing, showcasing the event's fun and peaceful atmosphere.

As the night drew to a close, the crowds dispersed, leaving behind a sense of excitement for the next edition of "DJs in Town" in Gütersloh. The event, which has become a staple in the city's cultural calendar, continues to draw in music lovers from all over, promising another night of great music, good vibes, and community spirit.
