The ESL Meisterschaft 2020 Dota 2 season is set to commence this week in Germany, marking the start of an exciting competition for 12 top teams. The season, organised by the esports giant ESL, promises a total prize pool of €26,700, with the winner taking home €10,000.

The league format consists of 2 groups of 6 teams, determined through qualifiers. Recast Gaming, Hehe United, Kolossus, Playing Ducks, 5Upjungz, and Team Destiny are among the teams that have qualified for the competition. Recast Gaming and Hehe United made their way through the open qualifiers, while Kolossus, Playing Ducks, 5Upjungz, and Team Destiny qualified through the closed qualifier.

Matches will be played in a best of 2 format, allowing for the possibility of ties in the group stage. Each team plays a double round robin, meaning they play each other twice. The regular season spans 10 Matchdays, from May 19 to July 21.
