Dos Torres is enjoying an extraordinary weekend, playing The Great Game of the Goose.
The Los Pedroches Grand Game of Goose 2025, held in Córdoba, Spain, was a resounding success, attracting a record number of participants and spectators. This year's edition marked a significant milestone for the event, with over 585 players and 65 teams taking part, making it one of the largest participations in the event's history.
The event, hosted by the Cultural Association El Gran Juego de la Oca, featured a giant version of the traditional "Game of Goose" board game, transforming the game into a physical, outdoor experience that celebrates local culture and encourages social interaction. Players moved through oversized spaces corresponding to the game's squares, with challenges, surprises, and novelties along the way.
Classic squares such as the Geese, the Bridge, the Jail, and Death were present, but a novelty was the minimum time for 'De oca a oca.' Completing them in less time was penalized for safety reasons, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game.
The enthusiasm of the teams brought light and color to the event, with over 1,250 people moving around the board during the two-day event. The initial challenge on Friday determined the order of departure on Saturday, while a new role, the Challenge Chief, was added to verify the times and provide more reliability to each challenge.
Special prizes were awarded for the most injured team, best spectators, the team with the best Instagram profile, and the best-dressed team on the board. The Closing Ceremony, scheduled for around 2:30 AM, will reveal the winning team of this year's Grand Game of Goose in Los Pedroches.
Over 350 volunteers were involved in the organization of the event, ensuring its smooth running and success. Dionisio Cuenca, the president of the Cultural Association El Gran Juego de la Oca, expressed his enormous satisfaction with the work done in recent months, calling this a very special edition of El Gran Juego de la Oca.
The Los Pedroches Grand Game of Goose 2025 took place on Friday and Saturday, August 3, in Cordoba, Spain, with hundreds of companions also attending the event. The Dos Torres game board became the largest in the world this weekend, as the event continues to grow and evolve each year.
