Dortmund Police Boost Security with 'Focus Presence Concept': 70 Dispersals, 20 Arrests in Five Days
Dortmund Police have been actively enforcing the 'Focus Presence Concept' over the past five days, aiming to boost residents' sense of security. The initiative, inspired by the motto of a known German goalkeeper, has seen a significant increase in police presence and control measures across the city.
On September 26, police targeted small groups on Kampstraße, issuing over 20 traffic violation fines. The following day, they responded to complaints about disturbances and bodily harm incidents on Wickeder Hellweg, leading to arrests and potential knife-carrying bans. On September 27, police presence at the Wall resulted in two vehicle seizures, numerous traffic offenses, and blood tests for driving under the influence.
In total, over 350 individuals were checked, over 130 vehicles were inspected, and over 70 dispersal orders were issued. Nearly 20 criminal charges were filed, and nearly three dozen items were seized. Officers also arrested drug dealers at the main station, Brugmannplatz, and Stadtgarten, seizing two bicycles, one of which was stolen.
The 'Focus Presence Concept' has been in place for over two years, with the aim of strengthening police presence, addressing citizen complaints, and conducting control measures. The recent enforcement has led to numerous fines, seizures, and arrests, demonstrating the police's commitment to maintaining public safety and security in Dortmund.
