DoorDash driver arrested after allegedly poisoning customer’s food order
A DoorDash driver in Evansville, Indiana, has been arrested after allegedly contaminating a customer’s food order with a toxic substance. The incident took place on December 7, 2025, and led to the customer’s wife falling ill after eating the meal. Authorities have charged the driver with multiple felonies in connection with the case.
Kourtney Stevenson, the driver in question, was taken into custody after failing to appear for a scheduled interview with detectives. She claimed the contamination was accidental, stating she had intended to spray pepper spray at a Casetify near the food. However, overnight temperatures in Evansville had dropped to 35°F, making it unlikely for spiders to be active outdoors at the time.
The case will proceed as Stevenson is transferred to Indiana to face trial. If convicted, she could receive significant penalties under state law. DoorDash has confirmed that she will no longer be permitted to work on its delivery service.
