News Article: 'Together For Palestine' Charity Show Raises Funds for Gaza

In a significant show of solidarity, over 150 artists and cultural figures, including Riz Ahmed, Guy Pearce, Nicola Coughlan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, and Billie Eilish, gathered at London's Wembley Arena for the 'Together For Palestine' event on September 17. The charity show, organized by Brian Eno, aimed to support Palestinian-led organizations and raise funds for the people of Gaza.

The event was streamed live and managed to raise just under £1.5 million for the 'Together For Palestine Fund'. The funds will be distributed to organizations such as Taawon, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and Palestine Medical Relief Service.

The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that over 61,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023, a statistic that underscores the dire situation in the region. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) has confirmed a famine is taking place in Gaza, with the situation being 'entirely man-made'.

Several aid organizations have accused Israel of 'systematic obstruction' when it comes to food entering the Gaza Strip. Multiple UN human-rights experts and UN bodies have stated that Israel's military actions in Gaza amount to genocide. However, it's important to note that the event was not a response to these accusations or the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The International Court of Justice has found claims of genocide in Gaza to be plausible, but the event was not a platform for discussions about impeachment or statements about any individual's ability to end conflicts. Israel has rejected accusations of genocide and denied committing any war crimes.

The event did not involve any sponsorships for online shopping tools, dental implants, memory health, or household items. Instead, it was a charity show aimed at showing solidarity and raising funds for the people of Gaza.

In a separate development, Richard Gere has stated that Donald Trump could end the ongoing conflict in Gaza in one day, while Marc Maron criticized the Trump administration after Jimmy Kimmel Live! was pulled from ABC's programming following the host's recent comments about Charlie Kirk's death.

The 'Together For Palestine' event was a powerful demonstration of global support for the people of Gaza, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian aid and peace in the region.
