Dresden loans Kother to Duisburg - Dominik Kother leaves Dynamo Dresden on loan to MSV Duisburg
Dynamo Dresden has confirmed the departure of forward Dominik Kother. The 2. Bundesliga club announced the player's immediate loan move to MSV Duisburg, a third-division side with ambitions for promotion. Kother leaves after just six months with Dresden, having joined in January from Regensburg.
Kother's exit follows discussions between the player and Dynamo Dresden's sporting director, Sören Gonther. The 25-year-old had previously trained only with the club's U21 squad after returning from a loan spell at Austria Klagenfurt, where he scored 12 goals. This season, he made twelve appearances for Dresden in the 2. Bundesliga but sought more regular playing time.
His new loan deal sends him back to MSV Duisburg, where he spent the 2024/25 campaign in the 3. Liga. The move allows Kother to continue developing in a competitive environment while Dynamo Dresden adjusts its squad for the rest of the season.
Dresden will now proceed without the forward for the remaining matches. His departure leaves a gap in the attacking options available to the team as they fight to avoid relegation.
Kother's loan to Duisburg takes effect immediately, ruling him out of Dynamo Dresden's plans for the current campaign. The third-division club gains an experienced forward with a proven record in lower-league football. Meanwhile, Dresden must now rely on other players to fill his role up front.
