Dominic West and Sienna Miller to Headline Law-Focused Series 'War' on HBO and Sky, Season 2 Contractually Secured in Advance
George Kay, the creative mind behind popular series such as "Lupin" and "Hijack," is set to unveil his latest project, "War." This gripping miniseries, co-produced by New Pictures and Kay's Observatory Pictures in association with HBO and Sky, is poised to make a significant impact in the world of television.
"War" is an intricate tale that unfolds in the prestigious world of London law. The series kicks off with a scandalous divorce case that sends shockwaves through boardrooms, bedrooms, and courtrooms. The show follows two rival firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, as they engage in a cutthroat battle in the divorce case of the century.
The production companies involved in this high-stakes legal drama are New Pictures (a company of All3Media) and Observatory Pictures, in collaboration with Sky and HBO. The series will debut on HBO and HBO Max in the U.S. and stream on HBO Max in Australia. It will also air on HBO and Sky.
The star-studded cast of Season 1 includes Dominic West, who will play Morgan Henderson, Sienna Miller as Carla Duval, Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne, James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor, Nina Sosanya as "Her Majesty" Beatrice "Queen Bea" Ubosi, and Pip Torrens as St. John Smallwood. Archie Renaux plays the ambitious lawyer Jonathan "Johnny" Warren.
Ben Taylor directs "War," and the series has already received a two-season commitment following a deal brokered by Sky. Interestingly, "War" is the first in an anthology of headline-making legal battles.
International sales of the series will be handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution. Matt Sandford is an executive producer for New Pictures, while Susan Breen, Andrew Dewsbury, and Megan Spanjian are executive producers for Sky. Willow Grylls is also an executive producer for the series.
