Dominant German MMA Champion Triumphs Ironclad in Prague Battle
Share on Facebook Tweet this Whatsapp Email Print Copy Link The Czech Republic hosts three Germans battling it out in a stadium event. The grand stage of a Prague football club's stadium becomes a battleground for Germany's MMA sensation from Swabia.
The Prague showdown ends in success for the Germans. Both MMA fighter Alina Dalaslan from Stuttgart and Bremen's Jaime Cordero emerged victorious in challenging matches, impressing 27,000 spectators at Prague's Eden Stadium.
After her thrilling debut in front of 13,000 spectators in Stuttgart, Alina Dalaslan took on the more seasoned opponent Roza Gumienna on a larger stage. The Polish tested Dalaslan in the opening minutes, keeping her at bay with kicks. But Dalaslan found her stride, unleashing a flurry of kicks that Gumienna managed to block, causing an impact close up. This allowed Dalaslan to close the gap and pelt Gumienna with powerful hooks and precise jabs. Many of Dalaslan's elbow strikes narrowly missed the Polish's head.
The second round saw Dalaslan amping up the pressure, driving Gumienna back and exploiting gaps in her defense. The 35-year-old underdog wobbled again, but the Dalaslan show ended in the third round. A barrage of push kicks sent the Polish down, and once she rose, hard hands from the German followed, causing Gumienna to collapse and the referee to intervene. Dalaslan fulfilled impressive expectations, continuing her ascent through her weight class in Oktagon.
Cordero's Near submission Victory
Jaime Cordero stepped up next, facing Prague native David Hozek in the cage. The opening round began with a scare: The Czech seized Cordero's leg during a kick and launched him to the ground. Cordero displayed exceptional resilience in poor position, turning his opponent, and dishing out hard elbow strikes. The German then attempted a leg lock, but Hozek tapped out. Unfortunately, the referee hadn't seen the tap and let the contest continue.
In the second round, Cordero pressed on with his preferred strategy. He took Hozek down with a takedown and targeted elbow strikes. He connected with multiple strikes in the eye area, causing deep cuts. The referee halted the fight after Hozek indicated he couldn't see anymore. Bremen's Cordero was declared the winner by technical knockout.
Solaja's Carelessness Costs Him the Fight
Danijel Solaja from Düsseldorf's UFD Gym opened the Prague event. The 32-year-old squared off against Czech Jan Stanovsky, who missed weight and intended to take the fight to the ground. This strategy didn't yield results initially. Solaja landed better strikes, and the Czech kept attempting takedowns. Stanovsky finally succeeded towards the end of the round, but the damage was already done. In the second round, the home favorite focused on ground fighting, but Solaja proved the superior striker.
The submission attempts that Stanovsky aimed for, Solaja foiled all of them, until he slipped up in the third round. By then, the 32-year-old was leading on the scorecards. Both fighters returned to ground fighting, but Stanovsky's choke attempts failed again. However, while attempting to escape, he managed to grab his opponent's arm. Solaja tapped out, and the Czech secured the victory.
