Toyah Willcox Announces New Album, Tour, and Live Shows
Toyah Willcox, the iconic British singer and actress, is set to release a new compilation album titled Chameleon - The Very Best of Toyah on September 5 via Cherry Red Records. The release spans the years 1979 to 2024, featuring the top 40 singles such as "I Want To Be Free", "It's A Mystery", "Thunder In The Mountains", "Brave New World", "Good Morning Universe", "Rebel Run", and "Don't Fall In Love."
In a recent performance during their Sunday Lunch video series, Willcox and her long-time collaborator Robert Fripp surprised fans with a cover of Extreme's "Get the Funk Out". The animated video, posted online, expanded their archive of online tomfoolery and left the watching millions frustrated or relieved with its unexpected ending.
During the performance, Willcox engaged in hat flipping and shouted the word "Bollocks!" while Fripp remained composed. The video ended with Willcox whispering "I want to lick you now!" into Fripp's ear, adding an unexpected twist to the classic 1990 hit's rendition.
In addition to the upcoming album, Willcox has announced a 2026 tour called the Songs & Stories Tour. The tour begins in March 2026, starting at the Chelmsford Theatre on March 22, and concludes at Perth Town Hall on June 14, 2026. Specific dates and ticket details for the tour are not yet available.
Willcox will also hit the road with Big Country in November. No information about ticket availability was provided for either tour.
For those eager to catch Willcox live before the tours, she will be performing at the 80s Calling! festival in Dundee on Saturday, July 26, 2025, alongside The Human League, ABC, and Altered Images. She is also scheduled to appear at the Southport Flower Show on Friday, August 15, 2025, where she will participate in Q&A sessions.
