Dolphins Hunt Replacement for Injured Tyreek Hill
The Miami Dolphins have begun searching for a replacement for star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who suffered a season-ending injury on Monday night. Hill tore multiple ligaments on a play that few players would anticipate happening to themselves. The Dolphins are exploring options through trades and free agency to fill the void left by Hill's injury.
One potential target is Michael Gallup, who recently signed with the Washington Commanders after retiring. Gallup, who has not played in a game since 2023, has a notable career with 21 touchdowns in six seasons. Another option is D.J. Chark, a 6-foot-3 receiver who could provide size to the Dolphins' receiving corps after being released by the Atlanta Falcons.
The Dolphins could also consider K.J. Hamler, an elite player with passion who is now a free agent after being released by the Buffalo Bills. Additionally, Diontae Johnson, a 29-year-old former second-team All-Pro, is available. Johnson caught 33 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns in 2024, mostly with the Carolina Panthers. From 2020 to 2023, Johnson caught a minimum of 86 passes in each season, with 107 receptions in 2021.
The Dolphins now have five receivers on their active roster, with Jaylen Waddle as the top receiver. With Hill out for the season, the team is actively looking to replace his production. They have several options to consider, including trading for a receiver or signing one in free agency, to help fill the gap left by Hill's injury.
