Dodgers suffer first loss despite Sasaki's dominant pitching display
The Dodgers struggled at the plate and suffered their first loss of the season. Roki Sasaki put his miserable spring behind him with a solid start, but the Dodgers struggle to score runs against Cleveland in their first loss of 2026. Sasaki adjusted after a seven-pitch strikeout and held the Guardians to one run and four hits in four-plus innings. The Dodgers squandered the effort with a lack of offense. Sasaki will have more to prove against stronger offenses than Cleveland's. But his performance at least suggested that the Dodgers' faith in him wasn't misplaced. Brandon Gomes said, "We know he can do it here, and especially now that his velocity is back to closer to where it used to be. I feel like he puts us in a great position to win."
