The much-anticipated 5th Eat My Shorts Short Film Festival is set to take place at CineStar - Der Filmpalast Hagen, Springe 1, 58095 Hagen, from Friday, 13th October 2017. This staple event in Hagen has established itself in Germany's short film scene and promises an exciting lineup of screenings, discussions, and events.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, 12th October 2017, at 20:00 with the opening film, "Alles nur Tarnung." Festival director and founder Bernhard Steinkühler, in cooperation with überRot GmbH Filmproduction Germany, has curated a selection of six challenging short films for this year's event.

Nina Maas will host the evening of the short film festival, which will also feature a round-table meeting of festival organisers, jury members, nominated filmmakers, and filmmakers of HAGENER FENSTER on SATURDAY, 14th October 2017, at 13:00.

Throughout the festival, a high-caliber jury, consisting of actors, directors, and culture enthusiasts, will award the "ADAM" film prize and cash prizes to young filmmakers. Prizes for the festival include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd jury prizes, an audience prize (prize money still open), a prize for the best film HAGENER FENSTER, and a prize for Film Internet Voting (sponsored by Television Europe.TV).

In addition to the nationwide competition, this year's festival will shine a spotlight on the filmic work of free productions in Hagen. Expected guests at the festival include Uwe Fellensiek, Tom Barcal, Timo Jacobs, and Anthony Arndt, among others.

Admission to the festival is on FRIDAY, 13th October 2017, at 19:00. Ticket prices range from 11.77 € for the short film festival to 54 € for a ticket that includes finger food, after-show party, unlimited food and drinks.
