The BBC is set to air a special documentary titled Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, offering fans and viewers a heartfelt and celebratory look into the extraordinary life of the legendary rock star. Originally scheduled for August 18, the documentary was intended to capture an intimate glimpse into the journey of Ozzy and his family as they prepared to return to the UK.

However, as of now, the broadcast of the documentary has been dropped from the BBC schedule, with new details yet to be announced.

The 60-minute standalone programme, filmed from 2022 to 2025, was initially planned as a series but evolved into a one-hour film due to Ozzy's health issues. It features never-before-seen footage of Ozzy Osbourne's family, including his wife and manager Sharon, and two of their children, Kelly and Jack.

The documentary covers the family's move back home to the UK from America, as well as Ozzy's final-ever concert, titled Back To The Beginning, which was held in his hometown of Birmingham on July 5 this year.

Ozzy, who died at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22 due to cardiac arrest, had been battling health problems for some time. He retired from touring in 2023, following a fall at home in 2019 that aggravated injuries he sustained in a 2003 accident. In 2020, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home promises to be a moving and inspirational account of the last chapter of Ozzy's life. It showcases family moments, humour, reflection, and the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. The documentary also features scenes from his private funeral on July 30 and the emotional farewell from tens of thousands of fans who gathered in Birmingham city centre as his cortege made its way down Broad Street.

Clare Sillery, BBC Head Of Commissioning, Documentaries, commented that the film offers a unique insight into their journey as they prepared to return to the UK. Despite the sudden postponement, the documentary remains a testament to Ozzy's life and legacy, and fans worldwide continue to await its broadcast.
