Documentary featuring John Candy set for release on Amazon Prime Video, three decades after his unfortunate passing.

John Candy, a beloved figure in Hollywood, is set to return to our screens in a new documentary film titled "John Candy: I Like Me". Produced by Ryan Reynolds and directed by Colin Hanks, this big-hearted documentary is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 10.

The documentary aims to capture what made John Candy so special, featuring rich archival footage that provides an intimate look at his full life. A-list Hollywood comedy stars have come forward to speak about their friend and the laughter, tears, and memories he brought into their lives.

Despite this, the documentary has received an average rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 17 reviews, with another source mentioning an 84% rating as of mid-September 2025.
