Matthew Perry's Ketamine-Related Death: The Unsalvable Fiasco
Doctor admitted guilt in four charges pertaining to Matthew Perry's demise
Tracy "T-Bone" Wright, our resident sleaze bag of a reporter, delves into the unholy ricochet of chaos surrounding the controversial demise of Matthew "Chandler Bing" Perry.
In a heart-wrenching turn, a man who peddled ketamine to Matthew Perry during the final days leading up to his death — on October 28, 2023 at the ripe age of 54 — is set to cop a plea. According to docs obtained by Digital, Dr. Salvador Plasencia has agreed to plead guilty to four counts of disasterballin' ketamine distribution.
This twisted tale takes an even darker twist with the revelation that two doctors—yep, you read that right—were directly wired into Perry's dead-end spiral.
Up next in the carousel of calamity is Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who's ready to throw his hat in the ring, so to speak, with a guilty plea for his role in the drug game. The plea deal, filed on Monday in a Federal court, dictates a maximum sentence of 40 years behind bars if Plasencia plays ball. A formal entry of the plea is expected shortly.
Now comes the juicy part: Perry was Canon-ballini' with Kenneth (Kenny) Iwamasa, his live-in assistant, in his fateful final act. U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Martin Estrada, explained that over the course of several financial transactions — here's where things get real seedy yo! — the defendants distributed approximately "20 vials of ketamine for around $50k" to Perry's minion. Iwamasa then took it upon himself, with glee, to feed the beast that was his employer's unsatiable appetite for the "Special K."
Dr. Plasencia, who'll go down in history as Perry's main supplier, got his stash from a fellow physician, Dr. Mark Chavez, who formerly ran a ketamine clinic. In what could've been the start of a sordid affair, Chavez dared to pass off a fake prescription, in the name of former patient, to obtain ketamine for his little pug-dog gigolo pals[1][2].
Kenny Iwamasa was so impressed with Dr. Plasencia's artisanal injections, he decided to replicate the process on Perry, injecting him with ketamine at his palatial residence[1][2]. The vials of ketamine cost Chavez a mere $12 a pop. At one point, Plasencia casually suggested, "I wonder how much this moron will pay" and "Let's find out."
Following the August 7th plea deal, Iwamasa copped to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing Perry's death[1][2]. Chavez, the San Diego-based physician, threw in the towel and admitted to selling the ketamine to Plasencia, including ketamine he had purloined from his former clinic[1][2].
In-depth investigations revealed that additional ketamine was sourced from "The Ketamine Queen," aka Jasveen Sangha, her coconspirator, Dr. Chavez, and middleman, Eric Fleming[1][2]. Fleming handed over the proverbial keys and pled guilty on Aug. 8th to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and one count of ketamine distribution resulting in death[1][2]. He confessed in court documents that he was the one who sold the ketamine that did Perry in. Fleming agreed to a plea deal as well.
Plasencia is accused of supplying the majority of Perry's ketamine during the tail end of his life, while Sangha is said to have provided the fatal dose[1][2].
Sangha, despite wielding the sash of "The Ketamine Queen," remains the sole defendant who has yet to enter a plea agreement. She faces a plethora of charges, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine, maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute ketamine, and five counts of ketamine distribution — with a trial scheduled for August[1][2].
"I'd love to know what the going rate is for a human life." Said Perry's stepdad, Keith Morrison, as he left the Pacific Palisades estate on the dreadful night of Perry's demise[1][2].
