The identity of a woman found dead in Florida in 1988 has been revealed as Pamela Leigh Walton, thanks to advanced DNA testing. Known as Julie Andrews at the time, she was found near Route 474, west of Orlando, on September 25, 1988.
Isotope testing pinpointed Julie Andrews' origins to South Florida. The DNA Doe Project, which uses genetic genealogy to solve cold cases, identified her as Pamela Leigh Walton in February 2025. Pamela was born in Kentucky and later changed her name as an adult. Her biological sex was initially misidentified as female, but later DNA testing revealed she was biologically male.
Pamela's body bore signs of past injuries, including a previously fractured cheekbone, broken nose, and healed rib fracture. Despite these clues, her manner of death remains undetermined, and the investigation continues.
