At a recent awards ceremony held at the clubhouse, these dedicated individuals were recognized for their years of service and commitment to the club. The event was graced by the presence of guest speakers, including Otto Stoehr, deputy mayor of the city, and Sven Schönke, DLRG district representative.

Four members honored for their 10-year tenure were Elsa Baumgarten, Patricia Burau, Maik Oschatz, and Lena Pingel. With 25 years of membership, Kevin Skyschus was also recognized for his unwavering commitment. These members were joined by Franziska Block, Kirsten Friedrich, Axel Hahlweg, and Gerhard Schulz, who look back on 40 incredible years with the club.

The district representative, Sven Schönke, explained that this award is given to those who demonstrate exceptional voluntary work in the service of the DLRG and its goals.

This dynamic duo has been actively involved in swimming and lifesaving training for many years. Their impressive resume includes certification in various areas such as first aid, medical services, water rescue training, and realistic accident simulation. These sisters have been instrumental in the leadership of their local group for many years, with Frederike Block most recently assuming the role of Technical Director at the latest annual general meeting held in May[1][2].

The Block Family: A Legacy of ServiceThe commitment of the Block family to the DLRG Neustadt is strong and unwavering, as reflected by their multiple positions within the organization[2]. Regina Block, the first chairperson, and Jochen Block are among the family members dedicating their time and efforts to the betterment of the community and water safety.

The dedication of our honorees is essential to ensuring safety on land and water.
