Youth Hostels Offer Students Discounted Rooms - DJH Launches 'Long-Stay' Offer for Students in Housing-Short University Cities
The German Youth Hostel Association (DJH) has launched a 'Long-Stay' offer to assist first-year students in university cities facing housing shortages. Around 30 DJH youth hostels in cities with universities and colleges are participating in this discounted room scheme.
The 'Long-Stay' offer allows students to book rooms for several weeks or even months, with costs varying based on duration, location, and occupancy type. These rooms are immediately available and fully furnished, providing a convenient and affordable solution for students struggling to find accommodation.
To take advantage of this offer, students must be members of the German Youth Hostel Association. While DJH has confirmed that about 30 out of its 400 youth hostels are participating, they have not yet published a complete list of these specific hostels beyond the already mentioned examples in Detmold and Berlin.
The 'Long-Stay' offer is a welcome initiative by the DJH to support first-year students in university cities dealing with housing shortages. Students can secure affordable, furnished accommodation for extended periods, provided they are members of the German Youth Hostel Association. Although the complete list of participating hostels is not yet available, students can check the DJH website for updates and further information.
