Dive into Dubai's vibrant scene with the youngest female Indian expat scuba divers setting new records.
Kickin' it in the deep blue, Dubai style! 🐠💙
Dubai's vibrant diving community is getting a youthful makeover, as three young ladies defy age barriers and dive headfirst into the world of scuba exploration. Hailing from diverse corners of India, Sreshta and Sloka Chandrra, along with Tisya Panigrahi, are making waves and inspiring a new generation of underwater wanderers.
Little fish, big certification:
Ten-year-old Sreshta Chandrra, a student at GEMS Metropole School in Dubai, surprised all by becoming one of the UAE's youngest PADI-certified divers in 2025. A feat typically reserved for those aged 10 and above, Sreshta's prestigious certification comes after an arduous training program at a local diving center, which involved a mix of educational courses and open-sea dives off the coast of Jumeirah.
Sreshta's newfound diving passion was sparked by her older sister Sloka, 13, who started diving before her. Their father, Satish Chandran, also joined their aquatic escapades, earning his PADI certification alongside the sisters. "I'm stoked to have finished the course and achieved my certification," Sreshta beamed. "Diving with my sister is simply the bomb!"
Diving siblings extraordinaire:
The Chandrra sisters have cemented their place in the history books as the first sibling duo in the UAE to receive PADI certifications. Their proud parents, Satish and Saranya, shared their excitement, saying, "Seeing them conquer their underwater adventures together, breaking barriers, and becoming certified is a dream come true." The girls have their eyes set on even bigger fish—they hope to swim with sharks in the Red Sea and explore the stunning coral reefs in the Philippines someday. 🦈🏝️
Deep diving and birthday wishes:
Grade 9 student Tisya Panigrahi celebrated her 15th birthday on June 8 by diving to a mind-blowing depth of 100 feet (30m) at the Garden of Eden dive site in Oman's breathtaking Daymaniyat Islands. A perfect way to celebrate World Oceans Day, Tisya had originally become a PADI-certified scuba diver at age 10 in 2020, making her one of the youngest divers from her home state of Odisha, India, to do so. Diving alongside her father and dive buddy Priyadarshee Panigrahi, Tisya became one of the world's youngest Indian divers to hit the 100-foot mark at 15. 🌊🎉
For these Indian dive bombshells, marine conservation is a passion —one they aim to spread through their daring underwater escapades. Whether it's the Maldives, Jordan, Seychelles, or the UAE, these eco-warriors have spent countless hours exploring and documenting the underwater world. Their mission? To inspire others to protect our oceans and the extraordinary life within. 🐳🐬🐠rescue
So here's to these incredible young ladies, breaking age barriers, setting new records, and making waves in the diving world. If their stories don't inspire you to grab your gear and take the plunge, nothing will! Dive in and discover a whole new world waiting to be explored! 🌊🙌🐠💙
