A Shocking Attack on a Political Volunteer

In a distressing turn of events, a Trumpet of Patriots supporter was mercilessly assaulted by a cyclist at a polling station in Melbourne's south-east on Thursday.

This vicious attack took place at a pre-polling centre located within a Pakenham church earlier today. The harrowing incident was captured on camera, showing the assailant confronting the volunteer, who was wearing a yellow T-shirt in support of Clive Palmer's political party. The footage reveals the cyclist launching a physical attack, consisting of punches and kicks.

The assailant was heard shouting, "We are built on multiculturalism." He further asserted, "These ads ... aren't what Australia is about. This is not uniting Australia, this is dividing Australia. This party is a scam."

Bystanders were left aghast as the disturbing incident unfolded in front of them, with tensions nearly escalating further. A woman off-camera could be heard urging everyone to calm down.

Victoria Police has confirmed that they are currently investigating the matter. However, the exact circumstances surrounding the assault are still under investigation. No arrests or charges have been made at present.

Right-wing political commentator Rukshan Fernado shared the footage on social media, stating that the cyclist returned to the pre-polling booth after being questioned by police. It is said that the cyclist offered to make a donation to charity as an act of apology.

The Trumpet of Patriots party's leader, Suellen Wrightson, has strongly condemned the violence, expressing her concern for the volunteer's wellbeing. She stated, "Democracy is a contest of ideas that political participants present to the Australian people... All Australians are entitled to be safe when participating in an election supporting a party they believe will grow and shape the nation they love."

Senator for Victoria, Ralph Babet, froze the incident as an example of the left's increasing extremism and aggressive intolerance, warning of potential civil unrest as a result of high political and social division.

Understandably, Australia is standing on the edge of a political precipice as tension intensifies amidst this election season. Questions regarding the official police investigation, the identity of the attacker, and the medical status of the volunteer persist, as information remains scarce.

The incident comes amidst controversy surrounding the Trumpet of Patriots party, which inundated millions of Australian voters with text messages last week, causing around 8,000 complaints. Though authorities are yet to make any definitive statements, this incident could further fuel political tensions leading up to Saturday's election.
