District 1 of Düsseldorf encourages residents to voice their opinions
In the heart of Düsseldorf, District Council 1 (BV 1) is gearing up to celebrate its 50th anniversary in style. The council, made up of 19 members representing various political parties, including the Greens, CDU, SPD, FDP, Left, Volt, and AfD, has planned a series of exchange events aimed at fostering local engagement, cultural exchange, and neighbourhood cooperation.
The events, which will take place at various locations within DC 1, including Altstadt, Carlstadt, City Centre, Pempelfort, Derendorf, and Golzheim, are open to all citizens of the district. The first event took place on Tuesday, May 6, at Burgplatz, with more events scheduled throughout May and early June.
Each event will be held from 4 to 6 pm, providing an opportunity for residents to meet their local representatives, ask questions, and learn more about the tasks of a district council. The events will also feature presentations by local authorities and cultural exchange activities, aiming to promote dialogue and cooperation within the district.
The district mayor of DC 1, Annette Klinke (Alliance 90/The Greens), will be leading the charge, along with her deputies Sabine Schmidt (CDU) and Christian Obendorf (SPD). The district administration office, headed by Silke Laqua, is located at Ratinger Straße 25.
