Disruption at WNBA Game: Dildos Cause Disturbance During Women's Basketball Match

The North American professional women's basketball league has been facing an unusual and disruptive issue - sex toys being thrown onto the court during games. These incidents, which have been occurring since late July 2025, have caused game interruptions and heightened safety concerns for players, coaches, and officials.

The latest incident took place during the Atlanta Dream's game against the Chicago Sky, where a purple sex toy was thrown onto the court in the final seconds of the game. This disrespectful act, like others before it, interrupted the game and caused a stir among the players and spectators.

Two men have already been arrested in connection with these acts. Delbert Carver (23) from Georgia and Kaden Lopez (18) from Arizona are now facing charges of disorderly conduct, trespassing, public indecency, and lewd behavior.

The WNBA has strongly condemned these actions, stating that they are "super disrespectful" and "immature." The league has emphasized that throwing any objects on the court endangers player safety and disrupts the game. As a result, arena security has been instructed to enforce rules rigorously to prevent further incidents.

Players and coaches have voiced their concerns about the disrespect and potential harm caused by this behavior. Chicago Sky's Elizabeth Williams and Indiana Fever's Sophie Cunningham have spoken out about the immaturity and danger of these acts. Cunningham, in particular, criticised the incidents, stating that they hinder the WNBA's efforts to be taken seriously.

The WNBA has threatened a one-year ban from arenas for individuals involved in such incidents. Previous incidents involved green sex toys, but the source of the sex toys being thrown remains unspecified.

Some teams have expressed frustration and called for better security measures to prevent these disruptions. The WNBA has already taken action, with Atlanta Dream winning their game against the Chicago Sky with a score of 86:65, despite the distraction.

U.S. media reports cite police sources in their coverage of these incidents. Similar incidents have occurred in Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles since July 29. The league, the players, and the coaches are hoping for an end to these disruptive and disrespectful acts, ensuring a safer and more focused environment for the game of basketball.

The WNBA has issued a strong condemnation of the frequency of sex toys being thrown onto the court during games, stating that such disrespectful acts hinder their efforts to be taken seriously. In the recent game between the Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky, a purple sex toy was thrown onto the court, causing a game interruption and stir among players and spectators.
