Disqualification of Kazakhstan Tennis Player for Using Fake Additives - Federation Stance

The Kazakhstan Tennis Federation (KTF) has confirmed the disqualification of 21-year-old tennis player Arslanbek Aitkulov, following a violation of anti-doping rules. According to a statement released by the KTF and reported by Liter.kz, the violation occurred due to Aitkulov consuming amino acids.

The KTF has provided full support to Aitkulov, including product testing and interaction with international bodies. However, the federation did not specify the nature of the communication or the evidence provided to these bodies.

The amino acids Aitkulov was consuming were discovered to have been illegally imported. The KTF received information from KazWADA that a large batch of the products was illegally imported. The manufacturer of the contaminated amino acids remains undisclosed.

It's worth noting that all athletes in the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation are required to check their medications, vitamins, and dietary supplements with the federation's official doctor. Aitkulov had checked his amino acids with the official doctor before consumption.

Since receiving the preliminary notice from the ITIA in March 2024, Aitkulov, along with his lawyer and the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, have been actively defending his position. Despite this, the KTF did not mention any plans for an appeal against the suspension.

The independent tribunal that suspended Aitkulov from competitions for four years did so based on a violation of the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP). The decision was also reported by Liter.kz.

This suspension marks a significant setback for Aitkulov's career, but the young tennis player will have four years to focus on his training and preparation, with the hope of making a strong comeback upon his return.
