In a tragic turn of events, Asif Qureshi, the cousin of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, was murdered in Delhi on August 7, 2025. The incident took place in the Bhogal area of southeast Delhi, around 10:30-11 pm.
The cause of death was a sharp pointed object attack on the chest during the altercation. According to reports, the victim, who was 42 years old, was attacked with a sharp poker. Following the attack, Asif fainted and unfortunately did not survive.
The accused in this case are two brothers, Ujjwal (19/21 years old, a music teacher) and Gautam (18 years old), who are residents of the same locality. The dispute started when Ujjwal parked his scooter blocking Asif's gate and ignored requests to move it. When Asif insisted, the argument escalated with Ujjwal verbally abusing and threatening him. Ujjwal then called his younger brother Gautam, and both physically assaulted Asif. Gautam stabbed Asif multiple times in the chest with the sharp object, resulting in his death on the spot.
The police have registered a case under murder charges and acts done with common intention. It was also reported that the accused were known locally for having short tempers and picking fights. Both the accused have been arrested and the murder weapon has been seized.
Asif Qureshi was a resident of Bhogal, Jangpura, and was in the business of supplying non-vegetarian food. The police are currently investigating the case, but no further details have been provided.
