Let's Dish the Tea on Two Kick-Ass Films at the FIDM Museum Exhibition!

Written by Spencer Williams for you, my insatiably curious friend

Hold your horses, movie buffs! Mark your calendars, ‘cause starting Tuesday, November 29th, the FIDM Museum is opening its arms to a riveting exhibition you won't wanna miss. This jaw-dropping event is brought to you by none other than Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) and United Artists Releasing. Better buckle up, because we're diving headfirst into the world of two powerhouse films of 2022 – Till and Women Talking.

Let's get our noses into some specifics. The Till costumes, artfully designed by Marci Rodgers, are currently displayed in the "Till: Creating a World of Joy & Resistance" exhibition. Rodgers, like a damn master of her craft, expertly conjured up the 1950s vibe using a blend of color, texture, and silhouette that'll tug at your heartstrings while narrating the stirring true story of Mamie Till-Mobley (played by the fabulous Danielle Deadwyler) and her unwavering pursuit of justice for her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till (Jalyn Hall). Prepare to feast your eyes on the costumes worn by Deadwyler, Hall, and the legendary Whoopi Goldberg, who also served as a producer on Till.

Next up, we've got the Women Talking costumes, designed by none other than the spectacular Quita Alfred. For those who haven’t heard about this movie, it's based on the best-selling novel by Miriam Toews and set for a limited theatrical release in the United States on December 23, 2022. The film follows eight women from a secluded Mennonite colony wrestling with a horrifying reality. Alfred went all out to ensure that the costumes not only stayed true to the story but also added another layer of drama. Starring Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, and the endlessly talented Frances McDormand, Women Talking will be featured in the "Women Talking: An Act of Female Imagination" exhibition.

So, mark your calendars, 'cause this exceptional exhibition is open for all to attend for a limited time, starting on Tuesday, November 29. The museum is Open Tuesday-Saturday, from 10 am - 5 pm, and the best part? Admission to the FIDM Museum? Completely Free! Don't just take my word for it – go check it out and tell me if you loved it as much as I think you will.

In the upcoming FIDM Museum exhibition, Costume designs for the movies 'Till' and 'Women Talking' will be showcased, giving visitors an immersive experience into 'movies-and-tv' entertainment. 'Till' costumes, designed by Marci Rodgers, offer a vibrant look into the 1950s setting, while the 'Women Talking' designs by Quita Alfred intensify the drama of the film's storyline.
