Disorderly Behavior by Football Fans in Sindelfingen, Germany: Supporters Engage in a Riot on the Motorway, Involving Tanks and Trucks

Last Saturday, a large group of football fans caused a riot at the "Sindelfinger Wald" service area on federal highway 8 in Sindelfingen, Germany. The incident occurred around 9:30 am as the fans were on their way to the UEFA Champions League final in Munich.

Approximately 300 to 350 fans were involved in the disturbance, making it difficult for the authorities to attribute the acts to individual persons. The police headquarters in Ludwigsburg is handling the situation.

The fans plastered stickers and graffiti on the walls, windows, and signs of the service area building. They also stole drinks, snacks, sunglasses, and souvenirs from the sales room, although the value of the stolen items remains unknown.

The police prevented the departure of the fan coaches and made contact with the drivers and organizers of the fan group. After the police measures, the six coaches were escorted by two patrol car crews and handed over to patrols of the police headquarters in Ulm for further travel towards Munich.

At least some of the stolen items and some of the stickers that were scattered everywhere were retrieved. The representatives of the service area building were contacted, and some damage was repaired. However, the value of the stolen goods and the amount of property damage left behind are still not known.

A representative of the fan group signalled that they would take care of the regulation of the property damage. For inquiries about the incident, you can contact the Police Headquarters Ludwigsburg at telephone: 07141 18-8777, email: [email protected], or visit their website: http://www.polizei-bw.de/.

The search results do not provide information on who represented the fan group responsible for concerns about financial damages. The police headquarters in Ulm was involved in the further travel of the fan coaches towards Munich after the incident.
