Disney's highly anticipated MCU series, unveiled on Disney+, received a perfect 100% score, signifying its canonical status within the Marvel Cinematic Universe without any utterance of its title.

The Marvel series "Eyes of Wakanda" has been unveiled today, offering an animated anthology set within the MCU's main-Earth canon. This new series follows the adventures of the Hatut Zeraze or War Dogs, Wakandan elite spies, as they embark on four historical missions to recover stolen Vibranium artifacts.

Each episode transports viewers to different time periods, ranging from the Bronze Age to the Trojan War, the early Ming dynasty in China, and the First Italo-Ethiopian War. The first episode, "Into the Lion’s Den," focuses on a disgraced former Dora Milaje agent seeking redemption by taking down a rogue Wakandan leader called The Lion, who is using Wakandan resources for international conquest.

Subsequent episodes feature a Wakandan warrior fighting alongside legendary Greek heroes during the Trojan War, blending Marvel lore with grounded historical storytelling. The series concludes with the fourth Iron Fist in the MCU on a mission.

Critically, "Eyes of Wakanda" has received generally positive but mixed reviews. The series is praised for its rich cultural aesthetics, inventive action sequences, and its deepening of Wakandan lore within the MCU. The animation style, a blend of 2D and CG techniques, is noted for its luminous production design influenced by period settings, elevating it visually above other Marvel animated shows.

However, critics find the quality of storytelling uneven; the first and last episodes stand out as the strongest, especially the premiere "Into the Lion’s Den," which effectively introduces the series' themes and characters. Some reviewers feel the series is too brief and that certain episodes lack narrative depth, which dampens its overall potential.

Despite this, the current critical reception for "Eyes of Wakanda" is positive, with a 100% score based on eight reviews. Each episode is approximately 30 minutes long, and the series consists of four episodes in total. The synopsis for "Eyes of Wakanda" reads, "Wakandan warriors throughout history go on dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts."

In the pipeline, Marvel fans can look forward to "Marvel Zombies" in December 2025, "Wonder Man" in July 2026, a new season of "Daredevil," a "Punisher" special, and "VisionQuest" at an undisclosed date. For those who have not yet experienced "Eyes of Wakanda," it is now available for streaming.
