Disneyland tree collapse injures two visitors on Plaza Inn patio
A sudden tree collapse at Disneyland Resort left two visitors with minor injuries late on Tuesday night. Mark and Lewanda Joseph were on the patio of the Plaza Inn when strong winds toppled a large tree at around 11:40 p.m. Both were quickly treated by park first aid staff.
The incident began with a loud crack, alerting Mark Joseph just before the tree crashed down. No guests were seated on the patio at the time, as rain had cleared the area moments earlier. Joseph immediately turned to check on his wife, Lewanda, after the fall.
Park medics arrived swiftly to assess the couple. They suffered only minor grazes and were treated on-site. The fallen tree was removed overnight by park officials to restore access to the area.
The Josephs later expressed their gratitude for the rapid medical response. Though they feel fine, they have booked doctor appointments as a precaution due to lingering soreness.
The couple confirmed they intend to return to the park in the future. No further details have been released about the incident or any updated safety measures. The Plaza Inn patio has since reopened to guests.
