Disneyland Paris Unveils World of Frozen with Rides, Shows, and Magic
Disneyland Paris is set to open its new World of Frozen area this Sunday. The expansion brings the 2013 blockbuster film to life with rides, shows, and themed dining. Fans of Elsa, Anna, and Olaf will find plenty to explore in the immersive Arendelle Bay setting. The centrepiece of the new area is Frozen Ever After, a family-friendly boat ride that takes visitors on a musical journey through Arendelle. The experience includes a small backwards drop and a larger plunge for an exciting climax. Nearby, guests can meet Anna and Elsa, enjoy a meal at the Golden Crocus inn, or try Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleds, a roller coaster themed around the film's lovable trader.
*A Celebration of Arendelle*, a 25-minute live show, features all the main characters aboard Viking longships. The performance includes music by Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the original composers of *Frozen*. The area also boasts an ice sculpture fountain and a walking Olaf, created through collaboration between Disney's Zurich research lab and its California Imagineering team. Development on the *World of Frozen* began in 2018 under Michel den Dulk, creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering. The project transforms the beloved story—where Elsa's ice powers force her into isolation and Anna embarks on a quest to find her—into a fully interactive experience for park visitors.
The World of Frozen opens its doors on Sunday, adding a major new attraction to Disneyland Paris. With rides, live entertainment, and themed dining, the area brings the magic of Arendelle to life. The expansion follows the film's record-breaking success as the highest-grossing animated feature upon its 2013 release.
