Disney star Carmen Sanchez discusses shaping her pop artist identity in 'Electric Bloom'
In the world of entertainment, Disney+ is set to debut a fresh and exciting new series titled "Electric Bloom". This pop-centric show follows a trio of superstars - Carmen Sanchez, Lumi Pollack, and Ruby Marino - as they navigate the ups and downs of fame and friendship.
Carmen Sanchez plays Jade, the songwriter of the band, and is described as both tough and rebellious. Her character bears a resemblance to Diane Warren, the award-winning songwriter, during her younger years. Sanchez has also incorporated elements of her Cuban heritage into Jade's character, adding a unique and authentic touch to the series.
Lumi Pollack portrays Posey, a character that is studious and organized. Meanwhile, Ruby Marino brings Tulip to life, a character that is energetic, positive, and quirky. Sanchez, Pollack, and Marino have shared that they feel a strong sense of love and support towards each other during the filming of "Electric Bloom".
The first season of "Electric Bloom" will feature 13 episodes, with the first one streaming on September 17. Notable guest directors for the series include Disney alum Danielle Fishel and Phil Lewis.
In addition to the star-studded cast, "Electric Bloom" also boasts some familiar faces. Maia Kealoha, known for her role in "Lilo & Stitch", and Dara Reneé from "Descendants" will make appearances in the first season.
One of Jade's favorite episodes is said to be emotional and focuses on her family. Carmen Sanchez has even gone the extra mile, creating a Pinterest board filled with hairstyles and outfits inspired by various Disney 'it' girls, including Alex Russo and Hannah Montana.
To add a personal touch, Sanchez has included a Cuban necklace with a Cuban flag in one of Jade's wardrobe for an episode. The series also showcases elements of Sanchez's Cuban heritage throughout its narrative.
So, get ready to tune in for the first season of "Electric Bloom" streaming on Disney+ this September 17. With its captivating storyline, talented cast, and a dash of cultural influence, this series promises to be a hit among Disney fans and newcomers alike.
