In a surprising move, Disney has indefinitely suspended the late-night talk show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' following controversial remarks made by its host, Jimmy Kimmel, about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The decision to pull the show off the air was made by senior executives at Disney, including CEO Bob Iger and Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment, Dana Walden. According to Deadline, they were behind the suspension of the popular show.

The suspension began with Wednesday night's broadcast and has no set return date. The move was partly due to media companies Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group refusing to air the show. Nexstar, which operates 32 ABC affiliates, denounced Kimmel's remarks as 'offensive and insensitive.'

Kimmel's comments about Kirk's death were considered inappropriate by some executives, and they sparked a strong response from President Trump on Truth Social. The suspension was also celebrated by the President.

The controversy started when Kimmel mocked President Trump's response to Kirk's death on Monday's show. He accused Trump and members of the MAGA gang of exploiting Kirk's death for political gain.

Charlie Kirk, the subject of Kimmel's remarks, dropped out of college and built a $95M political empire with a direct line to Trump by the age of 31. His death was announced on Monday, causing a stir in political circles.

The suspension of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' has also led to discussions about free speech and the role of media in shaping public opinion. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr accused Kimmel of misleading the public about Kirk's death and announced a tougher stance against broadcasters failing to serve the public interest.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer held a joint news conference in Aylesbury, England, where they discussed various issues, including the ongoing war in Ukraine and the importance of democratic values.

In a separate incident, Kimmel criticized CBS for ending 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,' suggesting the network canceled the show to appease Trump and secure FCC approval for a merger with Skydance Media. However, CBS has not responded to these allegations.

As the fallout from Kimmel's remarks continues, it remains to be seen when, or if, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will return to the airwaves. The suspension has left many fans of the show wondering what the future holds for one of late-night television's most popular personalities.
