Disney now offers streaming of 'Elio'
Pixar's latest offering, "Elio," an animated sci-fi adventure, is now available to stream on Disney Plus. Directed by Adrian Molina, who is also known for co-writing and co-directing Pixar's film "Coco," the film tells the story of an underdog kid named Elio.
In "Elio," the titular character finds himself beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization. Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms while facing a series of formidable trials. The film's voice cast includes Zoe Saldaña, Jameela Jamil, Brandon Moon, Shirley Henderson, Yonas Kibreab, and Brad Garrett.
"Elio" had a domestic box office earnings of $72 million, and worldwide, it made $153 million. However, the film's debut marked a historical low for Pixar. Despite this, "Elio" opened in third place with $21 million in its theater debut.
Elio is mistakenly identified as Earth's ambassador to the rest of the universe. As he tries to discover who he is truly meant to be, he must uncover the truth about his origins and find his place in the Communiverse.

Pixar has two upcoming films: "Hoppers," set to release on March 6, 2023, and "Toy Story 5" on June 19, 2023. After leaving the "Elio" project to work on the "Coco" sequel, Adrian Molina was replaced as director by Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi, who also directed "Elio."
In "Elio," Elio's aunt, Olga, is voiced by Zoe Saldaña, while Jameela Jamil voices Ambassador Questa, Brandon Moon voices Ambassador Helix, Shirley Henderson voices Ooooo The Super Computer, Yonas Kibreab voices Elio, and Brad Garrett voices Lord Grigon.
