Disney commemorates the 50th anniversary of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" through a fresh 4K restoration for cinema screenings and 4K Blu-Ray releases.

Get ready to time warp again as Disney prepares to release a special 4K Blu-ray edition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show to celebrate its 50th anniversary. This release promises a meticulously restored visual and audio experience, alongside extensive interactive and behind-the-scenes content.
The 4K restoration of the film will be available from October 7, and a special screening of the new restoration will take place on September 26. The restoration includes visual and audio restoration, with the film presented in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio and the option for the original 2.0 audio track.
The 66GB disc includes a Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos soundtrack, ensuring viewers can experience both modern and classic sound modes. Additionally, a 4K Digital version will be available via digital retailers, and a Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD SKU are also released simultaneously.
The special features on the 4K Blu-ray are extensive. Rocky-oke: Sing It! is available with and without vocals for sing-along, while The Midnight Experience features the 35th Anniversary Shadowcast, a fan cult performance track. The Vintage Callback Track (Unrated) plays alongside the film for audience participation.
Trivia Track titled 50 Years and Still Kicking! includes audio commentary by co-creator Richard O’Brien and Patricia Quinn. Deleted songs, including “Once in A While,” and deleted and alternate scenes, such as alternate black-and-white opening, alternate takes of "Time Warp," and various alternate character takes and seduction scenes, are also included.
The 4K Blu-ray package will also include an HD Blu-ray of the film, a digital streaming code, and a special screening of the new 4K restoration of the film will take place on September 26.
Disney is planning a series of events to celebrate the milestone, including a tour of 55 cities in the US and Canada. Three original cast members (Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell) will participate in meet and greets during the tour.
The Beacon Theater, New York City (10th Anniversary) event is included as a bonus, and the Rocky Horror Double Feature Video Show (1995) is featured as a bonus. A Song Selection feature (with and without vocals) is included as a bonus, and three different takes of the "Time Warp" scene are available.
Two alternate takes of Janet's seduction scene are included, and an alternate credit ending is part of the release. A Time Warp Music Video (15th Anniversary VHS Release) is included as a bonus, and a misprint ending is included in the release.
