Dishonest PDP Members Under Fire: Bode George's Scathing Remark - "If You Can't Handle the Pressure, Leave the Kitchen!"
Bode George Calls for Loyalty and Discipline within the PDP
In a bold move, Bode George, former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticised members of the party who publicly declare their loyalty to the PDP but secretly support the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate.
George, in a series of statements, has labelled this dual allegiance as "totally unacceptable" and "absolutely laughable." He has warned that the PDP will not tolerate any form of indiscipline once new party managers emerge.
George, in reference to the party's National Executive Committee (NEC), has emphasised the need for apologies from those who have acted improperly and for disciplinary action to be taken if necessary. He has also stated that the PDP is giving erring members a final chance to reconsider their actions.
One example of such dual allegiance mentioned in media reports is Nyesom Wike, a PDP member who also holds a ministerial position in the APC-led Federal Government. However, George has not explicitly named many individuals beyond alluding to Wike.
George has also compared serving two masters in an organisation to serving the devil and the Lord God. He has asserted that no individual owns or controls the PDP. In his view, any organisation must have rules, laws, and red lines that should not be crossed.
In a reference to the kitchen metaphor, George has said that if you can't stand the heat, you should get out of the kitchen. He has further emphasised that anyone who cannot abide by the rules of the PDP will be shown the exit.
George has also called for honesty within the party, stating that it is unacceptable to have people working for the PDP and the APC presidential candidate at the same time. He has insistent that if you want to be a responsible, respectable member of the PDP, you must obey the party's laws.
Once the NEC approves the decisions, the national convention will take place, and new or returning managers will be determined. The delay in the decisions is due to the PDP giving these individuals a chance to rethink and reassess their actions.
In summary, Bode George has broadly criticised those within the PDP believed to be working for the APC opposition while still holding membership and positions in the PDP. He has emphasised discipline and loyalty as essential for the PDP to remain a respectable and credible opposition party.
