Masked Attack Rocks Colourful Diversity Festival in Bad Freienwalde
Unveiled assailants orchestrate disruptions at heterogeneous gatherings - Disguised individuals mount an assault on the multicultural festival
Here's a lowdown on a brutal attack that marred the 'Bad Freienwalde is Colorful' event - a symbol of harmony and acceptance. On what should've been a vibrant day, a horde of 10 to 15 partially masked hooligans, sporting blunt weapons or wooden sticks, descended, leaving the town reeling. As of Sunday evening, these scoundrels remain at large.
The bloodshed unfolded on the market square of Bad Freienwalde, with at least two victims injured in the midday melee, according to the po-po. Unfortunately, the queer community was amongst those participating in this shindig.
The cops were present, but a piss-poor location call allowed the goons to vanish before the boys in blue could step in. The casualties didn't need emergency medical assistance, thankfully.
With a potential political motive looming, the state protection department is now spearheading the investigation into politically-charged crimes, as confirmed by a police spokesperson. Prior to the event, the authorities had been in the know.
"It's tough taking in this sh*tstorm," lamented Jule Grienitz, the alliance spokesperson, who witnessed the violence firsthand. "Just minutes before the event kicked off, a gaggle of around a dozen young, masked things, wearing quartz sand gloves and swinging wooden sticks, charged at us, injuring three of us." The alliance's security crew bravely fended off these jerks.
Disturbing little ones seems to be their thing, as Grienitz revealed that kids were also present and bore witness to the whole unfortunate incident. Three individuals were injured, with one sporting a massive black eye, another rocking a bloodied mouth, and a third suffering from facial bruises.
Unlike a bunch of yellow-bellied cowards, the alliance pressed on with the event under heavy police protection. "What the Nazi scum couldn't do was spoil our shindig for us," Grienitz said. Despite the odds, the spirit remained high, attracting a large crowd. "The intimidation tactics of these Nazi or organized fascist scumbags might work, but all they're doing is bringing us closer together as an alliance."
Brandenburg's Interior Minister René Wilke paid a visit to the crime scene. "We've had the odd skirmish at these events in the past, but nothing like this," the progressive politician said. "This bullsh*t is intolerable in our society."
Wilke urged the organizers to persevere, warning that those who can't tolerate fundamental freedoms like freedom of speech and assembly have no place here.
The festival, in its fifth year, hung around 50 posters, more than half of which were torn down. "We didn't expect to get ambushed like that," the alliance moaned.
The police are delving into charges of aggravated assault and soliciting witnesses' help. As of Sunday evening, the culprits were still running loose.
Background Check: Bad Freienwalde - A Stronghold for the Far-Right
Holding approximately 12,000 denizens, Bad Freienwalde lies in Brandenburg's east, just a stone's throw from the Polish border, and is about 56 kilometers from Berlin-Mitte. The 2023 constitutional protection report bizarrely pinpoints this town as a gathering spot for the far-right scene.
The Amadeu Antonio Foundation expressed concern over the armed far-right assault on the daylight festival, stating that it's a stark demonstration of the far-right's growing confidence and audacity.
