Desperately overpriced: Seller persists in asking 7000 Euro for the photograph - Disgruntled, inebriated individual negotiates exorbitant price of $7,000 for painting sale.

Twenty-five years back, the Kandemir couple received a painting as a generous gesture from an elderly lady. Rumor has it that the artwork graced a member of the last German Kaiser's family. Presently, Assu and Mehmet Kandemir of Frechen have decided to let go of this enigmatic, oversized piece on "Bares für Rares".

The sparkling frame grabs Horst Lichter's attention straightaway. Even Colmar Schulte-Goltz concedes he might not identify every component of this exquisite work of art. First impressions suggest it's an elaborate portrayal within its original frame of a female figure dressed in attire of the Ottoman Empire. "It's practically dripping with decor," notes the formal German expert.

"Bares für Rares": Is the Pricetag justifiable?

The mysterious woman in the painting slips behind the drapes to take center stage, as Schulte-Goltz suggests, this creates "a rush of dynamism". The artist believed to be German painter Paul Heydel, who lived from 1854 to 1935, is credited with crafting the frame, which Schulte-Goltz considers "one-of-a-kind".

However, when the expert inquiries about the painting's history, Assu Kandemir recounts an incident involving bullet holes. One chaotic evening, the husband of the elderly lady who initially gifted them the painting, came home drunk and unleashed a series of shots, inadvertently hitting the artwork.

Mehmet Kandemir has priced the supposedly priceless painting at a high 7000 Euro. However, Colmar Schulte-Goltz is reluctant to meet this asking price. Instead, he proposes a figure of 1500 to 2000 Euro, insufficient for the sentimental value it holds for the owners. Consequently, the couple chooses to withdraw the painting from the show.

The couple's dismissal of the offer prompts a warm smile from Assu Kandemir, who later confesses, "I guess it's a blessing in disguise; the piece will eventually make its way back home."
