Discussion on the presidential candidates for the Organization Bureau called by the trio

In the upcoming months, Krefeld will host a series of mayoral election debates, bringing together seven candidates to discuss the city's future. The discussions are scheduled to take place at three different locations across the city, with the first event kicking off on August 20th.

The first debate will be opened by the cultural council at the Klärwerk in Uerdingen, followed by the youth house or the courtyard of the Friedenskirche on Luisenplatz on August 21st, and the Covestro sports park at Loeschhofweg on August 27th. Each event will start at 7 pm, and a QR code for registration can be found on the official calendar of the Klärwerk-Krefeld website.

The series of debates has been announced by Jochen Adrian, Jens Sattler, Dr. Julia Obladen-Kauder, and Pastor Marc-Albrecht Harms. The citizens' alliance, represented by Jens Sattler, looks forward to continuing to work together in the future. The discussions will involve seven candidates: Frank Meyer (SPD), Timo Kühn (CDU), Benjamin Zander (Greens), Andreas Drabben (FW), Carsten Bullert (Die Partei), Stephan Hagemes (Left), and Björna Althoff (Luks). The AfD candidate was not invited due to a negative report by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

Two experienced local journalists, Anouk van der Fliet and Gordon Binder-Eggert, have been chosen as moderators for the debates. Pastor Harms hopes that many young people will participate in the discussion on August 21st. The cultural council has asked 32 associations for topics that are burning issues for cultural creators, including financial support and the future of voluntary work in Krefeld.

As the election draws near, the statements of the candidates will be measured against Krefeld's reality over time, according to Jens Sattler. For the most current and accurate information on the debates, including dates, times, and registration details, we recommend checking the official City of Krefeld website or local news portals. If you need help finding this information, feel free to ask for guidance on where to look or how to contact local electoral offices in Krefeld.
