Discussion on city guidelines in the historical heart of Nizhny Novgorod by deputies

In the heart of Russia, the Nizhny Novgorod region is undergoing a significant transformation. The regional government has initiated a project to build 13 new schools, aiming to provide over 14,000 additional student places and bolster the region's educational landscape.

The new schools are designed with a focus on practical education, boasting spacious sports halls, auditoriums, swimming pools, and specialized laboratories for physics, chemistry, and biology. They also feature kitchens and home economics classrooms, as well as workshops for technology lessons in metalworking, woodworking, and textiles.

Preserving the unique identity of Nizhny Novgorod amidst current growth conditions presents a challenge. To address this, the master plan for these new schools is being developed with the active participation of residents, investors, businesses, and authorities. This collaborative approach ensures that the development aligns with the city's cultural heritage and urban environment.

A significant portion of the project proposals relate to the urban environment, with a focus on transportation logistics and road networks within the boundaries of comprehensive development projects. This attention to detail aims to ensure seamless connectivity within the city.

The project's implementation also involves a special regulation for the protective zones of cultural heritage objects. This regulation is crucial in preserving the 880 cultural heritage objects in the historical center, which house over 270 people.

Nizhny Novgorod is actively attracting investments, with around 850 project proposals received annually. Approximately 100 hectares of land in the city are being considered for new construction, resettlement, and urban development.

The urban planning policy within the historical center of Nizhny Novgorod has been a topic of discussion among legislators. The master plan for the territories of CRZ is considered an important tool in the comprehensive development of territories, balancing growth and preservation of cultural heritage.

Eleven schools from the project have already been commissioned, signifying progress in this ambitious undertaking. The project is set to continue, contributing to the educational and urban development of Nizhny Novgorod.
