🔥 Get Ready, Semmering! Ladies' Ski World Cup's Back in Town!

✨ The region of Lower Austria and the Winter Sports Club Semmering have given the go-ahead for the upcoming Ladies' Ski World Cup! This week, the final nod was anticipated at the FIS conference in Vilamoura, Portugal.

🏠 The Semmering-Hirschenkogel will unusually host the Ladies' Ski World Cup this December.

🎠 Cable car operators' nerves on edge: World Cup lift crisis Since 1995, the Semmering has been the home of the Ladies' World Cup, alternating with Lienz (East Tyrol) every two years since 1996. However, the area used for the event is now permanently closed.

Politics: Thumbs Up for the Bids

Both Sportland NO and WSV Semmering have acquired the necessary funds and organizational capacity for two races in December. Sport Provincial Councilor Udo Landbauer (FPO) enthusiastically declares, "We're prepped and ready to bring the Ladies' World Cup back to the Semmering. This slope, this atmosphere, and these races are simply meant for here!"

The Bergbahnen Semmering have also received encouragement to host the event. During the main season, the Magic Mountain public ski run experiences significant limitations, leading to economic losses.

Advertising Gold for the Sports Region

Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP) views the races as "the best advertising" for the federal state. "The memories of the spectacle in December 2020 at the Semmering are still fresh for many: The atmosphere among the 13,000 attendees at the Magic Mountain was electrifying, and millions were captivated by their screens."
