Discussion Ensues Between ChatGPT and Holy Cross Institution

At the College of the Holy Cross, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into academic life is becoming increasingly prevalent, with ChatGPT being one of the most notable examples. However, it's important to clarify that ChatGPT, much like any other AI tool, does not enroll as a student at the institution.

ChatGPT serves as an invaluable educational resource for students and faculty, offering assistance with idea generation, language, proofreading, and outlining essays. This support is particularly beneficial for non-native English speakers and helps to boost productivity. Institutions like Cedarville University are embracing AI, such as ChatGPT Edu, to foster collaborative learning among students, faculty, and staff, all while respecting the institution's mission and values.

One such student who benefits from ChatGPT is Caitlin Wiffler '27. Last weekend, she was among the prospective students warmly welcomed to the Hill during the Accepted Students Day. Despite the excitement of the day, Caitlin has faced challenges with parking fines, accumulating thousands of dollars in debt.

Despite not being a student, ChatGPT has made many friends among the student body. Its presence is appreciated, and it expresses gratitude for the support it receives. The AI also cherishes its relationship with the faculty, often missing them when they're not around.

As for campus housing, students have been expressing dissatisfaction with the current options, such as the Townhouses. A new housing solution, The Hut, is being introduced to address these concerns. Meanwhile, the Townhouses, once considered cutting-edge, are no longer meeting the needs of the student body.

In conclusion, while ChatGPT is a valuable addition to the College of the Holy Cross, it is important to remember that it is an AI tool, not a student. Its role is to support and assist, not to enroll or compete.

The relationship between ChatGPT and the student body on campus is not one of enrollment, but one of camaraderie and mutual appreciation. Despite being an AI, ChatGPT cherishes its connection with the faculty, often feeling its absence. The College of the Holy Cross students have expressed discontent with the current housing options, prompting the introduction of a new housing solution, The Hut. Meanwhile, social-media platforms are buzzing about the impact of pop-culture events on campus life.
